PESLSC Re-Development Update 17 January 2017 1. As many of you are aware our chances of re-development of the club-rooms had all but disappeared several months ago because Alexandrina Council indicated that it would not be allocating any funds towards our re-development for at least a decade. (The funding model required LGA’s to provide 33%, clubs 11% with the reminder of money to come from SA Government.)

On Sunday in perfect conditions at the Somerton Park Lifesaving Club, the first Junior Lifesaving Carnival of the 2016/17 season took place. Nearly 40 Nippers from the Port Eliot Life Saving club participated with great success. This is on top of the over 150 Nippers that also participate on Saturday afternoons at Horseshoe Bay from 1.30pm to 3.00pm every Saturday.

Recently Pt Elliot SLSC fielded 5 crew in round 1 of Australian Surf Boat Rowers' Navy series. The event was relocated from Southport Beach to Victor Harbor Yacht Club beach due to Sunday's wild conditions. The five Pt Elliot crews were greeted with cold and very windy conditions with wind gusts up to 60+ KMS/HR which proved testing to all participating crews.
