How to get to Horseshoe Bay

Located on the ‘South Coast’ of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Port Elliot’s Horseshoe Bay is an 80 minute drive from the CBD of Adelaide, either via Victor Harbor Road (turn off at Main South Road, Old Noarlunga) or from the ‘Old Toll Gate’ through the Adelaide Hills (take exits to Strathalbyn and onwards). Once in Port Elliot, take Strangways Terrace (turn off at the eastern end of the main ‘North Terrace’ towards Middleton), before turning left onto Basham Parade. Beachfront car parking is available either side of the Port Elliot Bowling Club, as well as on Basham Parade, ‘The Cutting’ and surrounding streets. However it is limited and fills up fast on the better beach days! You can also take ‘The Strand’ from North Terrace to its end for more car parking.

On your way out from a day at the beach, don’t forget there are ample opportunities for a bite to eat or something to drink along Port Elliot’s North Terrace and The Strand. Much of these places are great supporters of the local community and in particular, the Port Elliot Surf Life Saving Club and ensure such an important service can continue.
