Same Wave
Same Wave kicks-off this season on 19 October at 11am for 90 minutes and continues each Saturday throughout summer.
Same Wave is a program that enables neuro-diverse or people with a disability to enjoy the water the same as we do. Each participant becomes a member of the club, and we run a program that includes stand-up paddleboarding, boogie boarding, swimming, water dangers, basic lifesaving techniques, first-aid and signals. We will also look to provide a certificate for participants of their achievements.
We have a regular group of approximately 12 participants and a team of SLSC volunteers, including Danny Smith, Richard Huffam, Mark Morelli, Michael Lippert and Mark Williams.
We are having a kick-off meeting for the surf lifesaving team on 12 October in the training room, at 11am to discuss the season, risk management etc. If you have an interest in being involved or would just like to find out more, please contact Mark Morelli (Mark@commercialadvisory.com.au) or come along on the 12th of October.
